Ashley Shepherd has 30 years experience as a Chartered Physiotherapist, working within both NHS and private sectors.

While working as a domiciliary physio with a stroke patient she had to enlist the help of the patient’s husband to hold her hemiplegic foot firmly on the floor prior to standing. One day the husband was exasperated with his role and suggested that nailing her foot to the floor would be easier. Ashley wondered how this could be done humanely, and with some wood, tape and superglue, the idea for StandSure was born !!
